Oakland International have recently opened their newest depot in Skelmersdale!
Integrated supply chain specialist Oakland International are an award-winning family business, located in Redditch, Corby and Bardon as well as Dublin. The business services wholesale, retail, discount and convenience markets via multi temperature-based facilities.
Oakland International chose Skelmersdale for the potential to expand, as well as for its strategic links to the motorway. The company are currently recruiting 15 HGV Class 1 drivers as well as fill several transport and office-based staff roles.
Lynne Pearson, Transport Manager at Oakland International, said:
We’re delighted to begin operations with Skelmersdale initially undertaking chilled distribution before expanding to become a cross-dock facility with the added potential of offering chilled storage once operations are fully in place.

Oakland has women drivers and transport staff at our other locations, and we aim to replicate this at Skelmersdale and ultimately, we want a workforce that mirrors the labour market.
