As part of the BBC Make a Difference Awards, Alison Colley from Hope’s Therapy Dogs appeared on The One Show to talk about how the Award has helped the business grow!
The team won the BBC Make a Difference Animal Award back in September, which celebrates an animal that improves the life of either an individual or group of people, or, an individual or group working with animals to improve animal welfare. The Awards shine a light on people who are going above and beyond in their local communities.
Hope’s Therapy Dogs, based in West Lancashire, is an incredible service which supports children, young people and adults with therapy dogs, to help aid mental health and improve emotional and mental wellbeing. The Therapy Dogs are brought into schools and workplaces to help provide support and ease stress, and overall provide really positive and impactful work for the community.

Pippa and I were honoured to appear on The One Show on Monday, 24th February, as part of the launch of BBC’s Make a Difference Awards. We had the opportunity to speak with Kevin Duala and the amazing team about what winning the award meant to us and how it has helped Hope’s Therapy Dogs grow, allowing us to support even more children and young people through animal-assisted therapy. Every moment in the spotlight is another step towards making a difference, and we are incredibly grateful to the BBC for their kindness, support, and for giving us this platform to share our mission.
