PepsiCo’s Skelmersdale site turns 20 next year; a fantastic milestone for the company.

Since it opened in Skelmersdale, the site has largely changed – in the past 5 years the company has invested approximately £35mn into the site: investing in new equipment, automating processes, adding a new canteen, front entrance and locker room, as well as reconfiguring its office space.

Sustainability plays a big role in PepsiCo, and to highlight this, they have invested in more compact packaging and moved two brands into paper multipack packaging, saving 240 tonnes of virgin plastic. Additionally, the site’s wind turbine, aptly named ‘Gail,’ powers 25% of the site’s electrical load.

Congratulations for 20 years in Skelmersdale, PepsiCo!
