FORECAST TOTAL EMPLOYMENT CHANGE: 2013-32

Employment in West Lancashire is set to grow at more than double the average rate predicted for the Local Enterprise Partnership area.

By 2022 employment is set to have grown by 6.9%, compared to an average of 3.3% for districts in the Lancashire LEP area.

Furthermore, it’s predicted that this rate will continue with employment increasing by 11.3% by 2032. This is the highest rate of growth across the comparator areas.

STEPS TO RECRUITING AN APPRENTICE

Create a job description and match to an apprenticeship framework/standard

Choose an apprenticeships framework or standard for an apprenticeship in your industry and at a suitable level.

Find a training provider to deliver the apprenticeship training.

Advertise your apprenticeship – your training organisation will do this for you through the find an apprenticeship service.

Select your apprentice and make an apprenticeship agreement and commitment statement with them.

THE LANCASHIRE ENTERPRISE ADVISER NETWORK

The role of an Enterprise Adviser is to support and work with an individual school or college and their senior leadership team in shaping the schools’ career strategy. You are there to provide an external voice; to be the schools’ critical and supportive adviser. You will be able to use your own network and contacts to support a school’s career activities, and you may chose to be directly involved in supporting career activities.
