Twenty three year old Abbie Morris has been impressing her bosses at Hotter; so much so that they put her forward in a competition organised by the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers.

Had the responsibility of the training of new entrants to the footwear industry in medieval London. They also helped preserve the reputation of the trade and more recently have set up a Charitable Foundation and help with the design of shoes for injured servicemen
Despite facing competition from employees of other major shoe companies, including Dr Marten’s and Clarks, Abbie won.
Her prizes include a career mentor, a development course from the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers and the freedom of the City of London.
“In the application I had to write down what I wished to achieve and what I would take from the award. I was up against some tough competition and was very pleased to win.
I am also very grateful for the support of Hotter Shoes who have enabled me to progress through the company.”

Abbie joined Hotter as a factory floor machinist four years ago is now based in the offices. It’s wonderful to see such an asset to the company and to Skelmersdale, showing just how much can be achieved with hard work and determination.
