Skelmersdale-based Climarite Refrigeration, located at White Moss Business Park, has proudly taken home the Small Company Achievement of the Year award at the prestigious RAC Cooling Awards in London.
The awards ceremony was held at JW Marriott Grosvenor House on Park Lane, and is the UK’s leading celebration of excellence in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. Climarite was recognised for its ambitious growth strategy and recent diversification, as well as its strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
Judges praised the company’s efforts in:
- Supporting local recruitment and apprenticeships
- Collaborating with nearby education centres
- Implementing a carbon reduction plan
- Making a positive impact in the local community
Managing Director Patrick Connolly shared his pride in the team:
We were honestly in shock when our company’s name got called out, but the team here thoroughly deserve the recognition gained and I’m delighted for them.
Our aim has always been to do the best job possible for our customers and create a great place for the team to work. More recently we’ve also implemented a plan centred around local recruitment, apprenticeships and training, as well as better supporting the local community – we consider this both a success and a privilege.
We hope this inspires other businesses within the industry and our local area, as Climarite is proof that even very small businesses can make a difference and impact positive change.
Climarite’s commitment to nurturing future talent was also highlighted, with third-year apprentices Michael Brady and Alex Forkings reaching the finals in the Student of the Year category.
This award is a fantastic example of how small businesses in Skelmersdale and West Lancashire are making a big impact, both within their industries and in their communities.
