10 Mar Edge Hill shortlisted for Northern University of the Year
Edge Hill University is one of only two institutions to have been shortlisted for ‘University of the Year’ in this year’s Educate North Awards, which celebrates the finest work in higher and further education.
Being shortlisted demonstrates recognition of the progress that the University has made in the past 12 months in achieving its ambitions of investing, innovating and genuinely putting students at the heart of everything it does.

Vice-Chancellor, Dr John Cater, said: “Many universities say they put students first. Edge Hill University really means it – and puts this ethos into action. That focus on students benefits everyone – the students themselves, the employers who recruit capable and confident graduates, and the people whose lives are enriched with our alumni within a wide range of fields. And with 82% of our 91,000 alumni living and working in the North, this is a significant Northern success story.”
The winners will be announced on Thursday April 23rd by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, at Manchester’s Hilton Deansgate.
Congratulations to Edge Hill University and we wish you the best of luck.
