A young Skelmersdale actor is the star of a new BBC Three drama series.
The Break has returned to BBC Three for its fifth series, which is a collaboration between BBC Studios, BBC Writersroom and BBC Three.
The bold short form drama series reflects modern life in the UK and this year the series features Skelmersdale local Niamh Longford, who earned the lead role, straight after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire.
Niamh started her training at West Lancashire College where she regularly performed to rave reviews and earned a lot of accolades for herself and the college, including ‘National Operatic and Dramatic Association’ awards for her work in Shakespeare.
Now Niamh is very quickly building up a great reputation as an actor in the television industry.
Annalisa Dinnella (BBC script writer) said about Niamh: “A star in the making. Everyone must cast her in everything from now on”.
Aurora Fearnley (renowned film/ TV director) referred to Niamh as: “A star on the rise. A complete natural on set”.
You can catch Niamh’s amazing performance in BBC Three’s ‘The Break‘ streaming on BBC iPlayer now.
About the project Niamh stated: “I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect project to be my first professional credit, working on such an accommodating set with strong women has been a gift”.
It’s wonderful to see such talent coming from the area.
