Trakrap, a secondary packaging company which operates from Gorsey Place in Skelmersdale, have been shortlisted in the prestigious The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) awards 2021.
Their innovative TrakCoder system has the potential to prevent almost 600,000 tonnes of film from going to landfill –making it a contender in the Sustainable Packaging Initiative category of the awards, which recognises excellence for innovation, competitiveness and talent in the food and drink industry.
TrakCoder prints the ITF barcode label on the same material as both cold wrap and shrink wrap plastics, enabling film which might previously have gone to landfill to be fully recycled, which will help the environment massively.

The FDF Awards are an annual awards ceremony which honours the dedication and commitment of those working in the food and drink industry. It is a celebration of the way the food and drink supply chain – from farm to fork – has responded to the challenges of the past 18 months.
The FDF Awards 2021 have received over 200 entries across the 18 award categories and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 16 September 2021, taking place at the Royal Lancaster, London.
