The finalists for this year’s Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs) have been announced and we’re pleased to see 4 West Lancashire-based businesses shortlisted across 2 categories.
The BIBAs is Lancashire’s longest running, largest and most prestigious business awards ceremony, run by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. Established in 2008, the BIBAS now has 20 awards, involves over 80 judges, welcomes over 1,000 guests and is the ‘one they all want to win’.
The following West Lancashire-based businesses have been announced as BIBAs finalists:
Micro Business of the Year
Arthur’s of Aughton
Arthur’s of Aughton is a neighbourhood wine bar serving a wide selection of quality wines by the glass and bottle, signature cocktails, great beers, Charcuterie and Cheese in the heart of Aughton, next to Town Green train station. Opening in 2021 just after lockdown, it has quickly become the perfect place for a spot of lunch, coffee & cake or one of their locally sourced cheese boards with glass of something special.
Four Seasons Glamping
Four Seasons Glamping Pods offer high quality, luxury and quirky bespoke handcrafted private glamping pods for short breaks and mini holidays boasting indoor and outdoor facilities by lakeside and woodland surroundings. Situated in Mere Brow, all the Pods have been built around the trees that where already on the island, they all have a different look, feel and character and are finished to the highest possible standard.

Southport Golf Academy
Southport Golf Academy is a family-run golf course which has been designed to be accessible to any standard of player, whilst still offering a stern test for the accomplished golfer. They offer a range of facilities including a 9-hole course, driving range, pro shop and two state of the art training facilities, which allow qualified coaches to assist in improving all aspects of golf and players to simulate playing thousands of course from around the world.
The Secret Garden Glamping
The Secret Garden Glamping is a Multi Award winning glamping site in Skelmersdale set in 4 acres of land, with idyllic views and a private 2.5 acre woodland.
Each unit is hand crafted on site and has their own individual style. With an amazing pod (The Hideout), lodge (The Lodge) and yurt (The Retreat) with all the luxury of home this will be the perfect place for a romantic getaway or family break. They were finalists in the 2022 BIBAs and have previously won the New Tourism Business Of The Year at the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2021.
The winners will be revealed at a glittering celebration at Blackpool Tower Ballroom on 15th September 2023.
