The Red Rose Awards are back for 2021 and 2 of our West Lancashire-based businesses have been shortlisted for awards. The Red Rose Awards celebrates business, commerce and industries and is the largest event of its kind in the county. Established in 2011, the awards are designed to promote and salute the success of businesses within the county of Lancashire and is a great platform to promote success to potential customers, collaborators and suppliers.
The Red Rose Awards 2021 was scheduled to take place in June but was moved to November 23rd, due to the introduction of the third national lockdown. This was to allow businesses more time to put forward nominations while ensuring that the event can be held in person. This year’s awards will also feature a number of new categories to better reflect the county’s evolving business landscape.

The following West Lancashire-based businesses have been nominated for The Red Rose Awards 2021:
West Lancashire Crisis and Information Centre
Category: Not for profit Business Award
West Lancashire Crisis and Information Centre, also known as the Birchwood Centre provide vital support and accommodation services for vulnerable people at critical points in their lives. Initially starting more than thirty years ago by working with people facing homelessness in West-Lancashire, their services have grown and developed over time, reaching out to more people through a variety of services including the brilliant Junk Food Cafe.
The Not for profit Business Award is open to not-for-personal-profit businesses, social enterprises, CICs, charity and voluntary organisations of all sizes who can demonstrate the great work they do and the business thinking behind it.
Specialist Taxation Services
Category: Professional Services Award
Burscough-based Specialist Taxation Services provide a wide range of specialised services to clients which include help with tax investigations, disclosure facilities, as well as providing computational work for mixed funds cleansing and forensic analysis within criminal cases – such as bribery and corruption.
The Professional Services Award is brand new for 2021 and is open to businesses that provide legal and financial professional services who have met the changing demands of its customers while keeping its own practices on track under the most trying of circumstances during the pandemic.
